DAY 1 COLOMBO
Meet on arrival at Colombo International Airport with private transfer to your hotel. Dinner and overnight stay. Trans Asia Hotel 5*

DAY 2 PINNAWELA - DAMBULLA
After breakfast, go on a city tour of Colombo before leaving for Giritale. En route visit the ever popular elephant orphanage in Pinnawela. Also visit Dambulla Rock Temple. Dating from the 1st century B.C., the cave monastery, with its five sanctuaries, is the largest and best preserved cave-temple complex in Sri Lanka. Check in to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay. Royal Lotus Hotel 3*

DAY 3 MINERIYA - KAUDULLA
After breakfast, leave on a jeep safari at Mineriya National Park. Return to hotel and in the afternoon go on a jeep safari at Kaudulla Wildlife Park. Dinner and overnight stay. Royal Lotus Hotel 3*

DAY 4 SIGIRIYA - KANDY
After breakfast leave for Kandy. On the way visit the impressive 5th century Sigiriya rock fortress. Also visit a spice garden in Matale to see the different spices which Sri Lanka is famous for. Check in to hotel. In the afternoon visit Peradeniya Botanical Gardens and Kandy town. In the evening visit the Temple of the Tooth and see a cultural show featuring traditional Sri Lankan dancing. Return to hotel for dinner and overnight stay. Amaya Hills 4*

DAY 5 NUWARA ELIYA
After breakfast visit a tea plantation and tea factory. You can also see how tea is graded and taste a cup of pure Ceylon tea in the factory. Nuwara Eliya is the heart of Sri Lanka's tea country producing a significant share of the world's best tea. Check in to hotel and in the afternoon leave on a sightseeing tour of Nuwara Eliya. Return to hotel for dinner and overnight stay. Grand Hotel - Golf Wing 4*

DAY 6 HORTON PLAINS - YALA
After an early breakfast leave for Horton Plains, a bleak plateau of montane cloud forests some 6500ft above sea level and home to a variety of wild animals and hill birds. Explore the plains by jeep and trek to 'World’s End', a sheer precipice of 3700ft with spectacular views all the way to the Indian Ocean. Return to Nuwara Eliya and leave for Yala via Ella & Wellawaya - a very scenic route through the southern highlands. Check in to hotel for dinner and overnight stay. Yala Village 3*

DAY 7 YALA NATIONAL PARK
Morning at leisure. In the afternoon go on a wildlife jeep safari in Yala National Park. Yala is a particularly good place to see elephants, and probably has the world's highest concentration of leopards. Sloth bears, jackals, mongoose, pangolin, crocodile, wild boar, deer, water buffalo, gray langur and wild peacocks can also be seen. (Yala is closed in September and October). Return to hotel for dinner and overnight stay. Yala Village 3*

DAY 8 BUNDALA WILDLIFE PARK
After breakfast leave for Hambantota. Check in to hotel and, in the afternoon, go on a jeep safari at Bundala Wildlife Park. Return to hotel for dinner and overnight stay. Oasis Hotel 3*

DAY 9 EMBILIPITIYA - UDA WALAWE NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast leave for Embilipitiya. Check in to hotel and, in the afternoon, go on an elephant watching safari at Uda Walawe National Park. With a population of about 450, this is the best place in Sri Lanka to see elephants in the wild. Also inhabiting the park are crocodiles, golden jackals, water buffalo, mongoose, spotted deer and grey langur as well as many species of birds including wild peacocks and eagles. Return to hotel for dinner and overnight stay. Centauria Inn 2*

DAY 10 SINHARAJA RAINFOREST
After breakfast leave for Sinharaja Forest. On arrival at the Rainforest gate you will be accompanied by a guide to the camp site. Sinharaja is the last major undisturbed rainforest in Sri Lanka, a World Heritage Site, and home to a remarkable variety of endemic species. In the afternoon go on a nature trail through the Rainforest (Waturawa Trail 4.7km). Dinner and overnight stay at the camp site.

DAY 11 SINHARAJA RAINFOREST - NEGOMBO
After breakfast leave for a second jungle trek (Moulawella Trail 7.5km) through the primary rainforest up to Moulawella peak (700 m) from where you can see Adam's Peak and look over the forest canopy. Seeing mammals in Sinharaja can prove more difficult than in the national parks but walking in the thick jungle is a unique and exhilarating experience. Leave for the palm fringed coast of Negombo. Check in to hotel for dinner and overnight stay. Blue Oceanic Hotel 3*

DAY 12 DEPARTURE TRANSFER or BEACH HOTEL
After breakfast leave for the Airport to connect with your departure flight or to your selected beach hotel.
